- It's been almost 10 years since I entered the world of crypto, from the excitement of discovering Bitcoin, to the joy of mining Dogecoin, from ignoring the innovation of Ethereum to mindlessly chasing various Ethereum imitations. I've been through it all, and it's all in the past.
- I vaguely remember that since learning to use the internet, I have come across many websites for writing, from the early BBS forums to later Sina Blogs, and after the popularity of WeChat, its public accounts. Of course, this also includes some niche products, such as Jianshu, and that thing that Han Han created, I forgot the name. Anyway, in the Web 2.0 era, being a writer was not easy, with many restrictions - unable to write this, being censored for that. After finally publishing a good article, with tens of thousands of reads, the result was just a few pitiful tips.
- I remember when Dogecoin was just becoming popular, around 2014, as a tipping currency, I had a brainwave - this thing could really have a great future as a social currency. I kept researching, the total supply of 100 billion, no cap, was really shocking at first. Now 100 billion is nothing, but back then it was astronomical. Remember, all altcoins were benchmarked against Bitcoin, including the total supply, so most altcoins had small issuances. Litecoins with 84 million were considered a lot, but unfortunately, the bear market in 2015 changed everything.
- It should be said that the emergence of Ethereum changed everything. This smart contract platform successfully added various new functions on top of Bitcoin, making blockchain-based writing platforms possible. It brought new traffic and wealth. The bull markets of 2017 and 2021 were actually based on the innovation brought by Ethereum. For writers, in the previous Web 2.0 era, facing various restrictions made it impossible to freely unleash their talents. Blockchain unlocked the shackles on writers, making novel ideas possible. Of course, one still needs to face their own psychological shackles.
- Although I don't know how this platform will develop in the future, at least there is a place to rest now. The feeling of falling from the sky is not pleasant, and not everyone has the courage to get back up from the ground. All I can say is, go with the flow, everything is fate's arrangement, everyone is just a puppet of time.
